The Grand Forks city council is calling for a review on how city employees receive raises.
The current process was called into question after a $24,500 raise was given to Community and Government Relations Officer Pete Haga. A raise council members say they should have been told about prior to approving the 2013 city budget. Haga's raise was included in the city budget as a line item in the mayor's office budget. Grand Forks Mayor Brown says proper procedure was followed when evaluating Haga's position and he says he stands by his decision.
