A man who admitted to killing his girlfriend's five-month-old baby by shaking and assaulting him is heading to prison for nearly five years then will be deported.
31-year-old Pedro Mendoza agreed to a plea deal on a second-degree manslaughter charge. He is in the United States illegally and will be deported back to Guatemala after his sentence. Mendoza will also pay nearly $8,500 in restitution to the family from prison earnings.
