If you've tried to book a hotel or make dinner reservations this weekend you may have noticed how packed places are. Grand Forks will be buzzing with UND's welcome week, the football game and the first half-marathon held in the city with nearly 1,600 people taking part.

Local hotels and restaurants like Wild Hog are working hard getting ready for all the travelers that will come through town this weekend. Events will take place right next to Wild Hog before and after the marathon. Staff spent the day putting up tents and setting up equipment for the beer gardens, family fun night and live music. Local hotels have extra staff on hand to get all the rooms ready and many are booked solid through the weekend. Everyone involved with the event says it's good for the local economy and the half-marathon will help put Grand Forks on the map.

The races are nearing capacity so if you want to run you can log onto http://www.gfmarathon.com for more info.
