Some homeowners in northwest Minnesota are still in the dark about 34 hours after the early October snow storm knocked out power for thousands.

This morning as many as 900 PKM customers were still without power and now it's still about 400-500 customers. PKM says the outages are so widespread and spotty that it's taking much longer than normal to restore power to hundreds of homeowners. PKM said that one of the main problems came from ice that had built up on loose branches causing them to fall on power lines. In addition to that high winds caused poles to break so there are poles and lines down everywhere.
