BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan's campaign
fund has grown to $4.2 million, and he isn't seeking re-election.
The Democratic senator's latest Federal Election Commission
report says he raised almost $457,000 during October, November and
December. Dorgan announced Jan. 5 that he wasn't running for his
fourth term.
Dorgan hasn't said what he's going to do with the money. He has
to refund donations made for this year's general election, but most
contributions on his latest report were for the June primary.
Dorgan doesn't have to return primary election donations.
State law allows Dorgan to give unlimited amounts to North
Dakota's Democratic Party and state Democratic candidates. He can't
keep it for personal use.
