Grand Forks Public Schools is taking applications to fill an opening to fill on the school board.
Roger Pohlman resigned from the school board and his position as a lieutenant with the Grand Forks Police Department to go to Red Wing as the city's new police chief. The school board has 60 days to fill his spot. The district will accept applications for a few weeks and the school board could appoint a new member as early as November 13th. Superintendent Larry Nybladh says the new candidate will have big shoes to fill. The appointee will fill the seat until the next regular election on June 10th, 2014.
