Taxes are a number one priority according to Grand Forks city council members for the 2013 legislative session.
This week the council committee discussed an agenda of topics covering taxes, transportation, housing and water projects. Governor Jack Dalrymple has set aside roughly $400 million in his proposed budget for property tax relief. But property tax relief might not be the best choice according to city leaders. The meeting this week was only a preliminary discussion so talks will continue and hopefully we'll get a better idea of the way the city's leading towards the end of the year.
