Dozens of American Crystal Locked Out workers lined the streets near Hugo's on 32nd Avenue today kicking off a nationwide consumer boycott.
Locked-out workers took over the streets this morning handing out pamphlets urging people not to buy American Crystal Sugar products until the lockout ends. The boycott started near the door of the Hugo's but was moved after the Grand Forks Police and Sheriff Departments were called on scene. Workers moved their boycott closer to the streets hoping to let people know they are still here and want their jobs back. Workers are also out near Hornbacher's Grocery Store in Fargo as well as more than 20 other locations hoping to make a difference and eventually get back to work. It's been more than a year since more than 1,300 workers have been locked out. A call requesting a comment from Hugo's about the boycott went unreturned.
