Shorter Wait Coming to Grand Forks Traffic Lights

Major street lights in town are being readjusted to new traffic patterns causing some big delays this week but soon if you're on a side street, you'll have a shorter wait at a red light.

The side roads that merge into Washington, Columbia, 32nd Avenue, Demers and Gateway will all be impacted. Two years ago the MPO updated traffic signals so coordinated traffic timing plans could be installed. Officials say at different times of the day there's different input into the traffic signals as to when they should turn green. Haugen says the timing changes should be finished by Saturday.
