A proposal to eliminate the North Dakota sales tax on clothing is raising questions on how it would affect local cities.

A group of Fargo Democratic legislative candidates are proposing eliminating the tax while a Grand Forks legislator says he needs more details before backing the a proposal. State Representative Republican Curt Kreun says he's in favor of bringing down taxes but people also need to look at the costs and benefit of taking any action. Kreun says he questions how much eliminating the tax would keep shoppers from crossing into Minnesota and Montana to purchase clothing.
