A candidate running for State Superintendent of Public Instruction wants to address growth in the western part of North Dakota.

Independent candidate Tracy Potter is running against Republican Kerstin Baesler for the position. Potter says he wants to address overcrowded classrooms, training and supporting teachers and protecting state school lands. The candidate says he is also running to change the bi-partisan trend of over-testing students. The candidates will be in Bismarck tomorrow talking to the council of educational leaders.
