A recent sales tax report shows Grand Forks up 13 percent in second-quarter sales figures but compared to the rest of state, Grand Forks has fallen behind.

Reports may show Grand Forks slipping behind the curve but local officials say a 13 percent hike is still way ahead of the rest of the nation. Sales tax will also increase with the holiday season on the horizon. Stores downtown and all around Grand Forks are expecting some of the biggest holiday shopping numbers they've ever seen.
