Lake Region Education Cooperative Gains Two New Members

Two non-public schools have joined a Lake Region education cooperative with hopes of creating a similar curriculum for all area students.

Saint Joseph's School Religious Education and Tate Topa tribal school have joined the Northeast Education Services Cooperative. The co-op now has 16 member schools. The two new members are the first non-public schools to join the co-op. It brings teachers and administrators together to combine resources while creating a uniform curriculum for students. Officials say its vital because private school students will move on to public high schools.

The two new schools will now have a say in what funding from the co-op will be used for. Teachers from participating schools meet with each other at least four times a year to work on issues facing area students.
