Columbia Road Overpass Repairs Start Monday

Long-awaited repairs on the Columbia Road overpass will get under way Monday, city officials said today. Traffic will be reduced on the overpass to two lanes — one in each direction on that day. As a result, traffic delays are likely, especially during morning and evening rush hours. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes to avoid delays, officials said in a press release.

Some of the work will take place underneath the bridge, which may not be evident to those using the overpass. The work may also result in some parking restrictions near the north end of the bridge, to allow constructions crews access to the project. Please observe “no parking” signs that will be posted. Illegally parked vehicles may be towed at owners’ expense. The construction is scheduled to take approximately one month to complete, weather permitting.
