While election day isn't until November 6th, if you live in Grand Forks county you can cast your vote starting today.
County officials are expecting more early voters to turn out than ever before for this heated election. In 2008 early voting was moved from the Grand Forks County Building to the Alerus Center to accommodate the huge numbers of early voters. 8,300 people voted early in the presidential election. But this year officials are expecting an even larger crowd to hit the polls early. Many polling places in Grand Forks County have changed so early voting can alleviate any possible confusion.
Polls are open at the Alerus Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m through Friday, Nov 2nd. If you prefer to vote in the traditional manner polls will be open Tuesday, November 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee ballots must be returned to the county office or postmarked by November 5th.
