Senator John Hoeven and the Base Realignment Impact committee are pushing for an unmanned aerial system complex on the base in Grand Forks. The facilities would house mainly private companies to test and maintain UAS equipment and possibly employ as many as 700.
The Air Force is expected to make a decision on whether it will lease land on the airbase for the project. Grand Forks County is proposing to lease 200 acres for the project and a decision is expected sometime next month.
