The 2012 New York City marathon is a "go" despite the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy. That storm left several local runners waiting and wondering. Bismarck's Jim Tyler is excited to line up with thousands of others this Sunday.

45,000 runners were expected before Hurricane Sandy and now organizers aren't sure how many to expect. Tyler and at least four other runners from Bismarck have decided to go ahead with plans to run. He says although organizers and mayor Bloomberg are taking some criticism for holding the race there are also good reasons to run it.

Organizers say they will make sure the running of the race doesn't affect recovery efforts in the city. The race begins at 8 am Sunday
