Fertile, Minn., Man in Critical Condition After Accident

A 49-year-old man from Fertile, Minn., is listed in critical condition today after a two-vehicle accident in Marshall County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1994 International truck driven by Theodore Curfman, 61, Thief River Falls, was travelling northbound on U.S. Highway 75 when he turned on to 210th Street Northwest and was rear-ended by a semi-trailer driven by the Fertile man, who's name was not released. The accident occurred at about 6 a.m., the patrol said. Both drivers were taken to North Valley Health Center in Warren, Minn. Curfman suffered non life-threatening injuries, while the Fertile man was listed in critical condition. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, the patrol said.
