The Cancer Center of North Dakota is offering free screenings for lung cancer awareness month this November for people at high risk.

Those at high risk include people over the age of 55 who have smoked on average one pack of cigarettes a day for the past 30 years. Lung cancer is a leading cause of death, higher than breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer combined. More than 220,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer each year and 150,000 die each year. The Cancer Center of North Dakota is teaming up with independent radiology associates for the screenings.
