Winter Storm Watch in Effect for the Area Through Saturday Night

A winter storm watch is in effect for much of northeastern N.D. and extreme northwestern Minnesota Friday night through Saturday night.

A winter storm watch is in effect for much of northeastern N.D. and extreme northwestern Minnesota Friday night through late Saturday night.

Light snow will develop Friday night in the Devils Lake area, becoming heavier and spreading east along the Canadian border through the night. Snow, heavy at times, will fall north of Devils Lake to Grafton and east to Hallock, Minn. More than 6 inches of snow is possible.

A mix of light freezing rain and snow is expected from Roseau to Grand Forks to Cooperstown late Friday night and into Saturday. Total snow accumulation of up to 4 inches is expected. Winds will be from the east at 15 to 25 mph Friday night, becoming north on Saturday with gusts higher than 30 mph.

Slippery road conditions are expected and may impact travel. Please take the appropriate driving precautions.
