Kevin Cramer says he will be resigning as a member of the state Public Service Commission at the end of the year to become North Dakota's newest congressman.

In early January he'll be sworn in in Washington. Cramer says he wants to stay on the PSC as long as possible to make sure it's fully staffed. The governor will appoint his successor.

The commission has three members, chairman Brian Kalk and temporary commissioner Bonny Fetch. Fetch will be replaced by newly elected Randy Christmann who defeated Brad Crabtree to win his commission seat.
