East Grand Forks is representing Minnesota in a six-month nationwide recycling challenge aimed at making communities a little greener. The challenge started in July and right now East Grand Forks is in 23rd place out of the 50 communities involved.

The challenge started in July and right now East Grand Forks is in 23rd place out of the 50 communities involved. But there is still time to move up. The SC Johnson Greener Choices Recycling Challenge encourages waste reduction and aims to increase the number of families who recycle. The community that wins will receive a $100,000 grant for a community sustainability project. The contest runs through January 2nd.
