Tensions ran high in Adams, North Dakota as the school board faced a bitter battle over how it would spend remaining money after the town's only school closes.
Because of the closure the board was tasked with deciding where the money would go, and that decision was far from unanimous. This issue is such a hot button topic in Adams that the town's mayor repeatedly asked me to leave the meeting before it began. There was still tension in the air when the meeting ended. Adams-Edmore Superintendent Frank Schill pointed out that tax revenue from Adams residents will more than cover the cost of education for the new students in the Park River district.
