New, More Efficient Street Lights Coming to University Avenue

A section of University Avenue in Grand Forks will be the first to get a stretch of new LED street lights.
The project includes new lighting from North 3rd Street to 9th street in the downtown area. Federal funding is being used for the $75,000 project and it's expected to pay for itself in 8 years. The lights are replacing higher cost, higher pressure sodium light bulbs. The new lights are expected to be working by Tuesday night.
