The Grand Forks Sheriff's department has a new tool to help young drivers steer clear of drinking and driving.

The 4-wheel pedal-propelled vehicle was introduced to area students at UND this afternoon. While wearing a pair of fatal vision goggles that simulate the reflexes after drinking, students tried to pedal through an obstacle course. Students experienced firsthand just how much how their impairment affects their performance. The sheriff's department plans to use the car for many future alcohol awareness related events.
