Grand Forks Stays Ahead Of Curve On Stimulus Money

The city of Grand Forks is getting possible construction project prepared in case there is more stimulus money

City leaders in Grand Forks are making sure they're prepared if more federal stimulus money comes their way.

The city bid eleven projects last year with three and a half million dollars they received through the program.

Just in case there is more money this year, the city wants to be ready with 13 projects.

It's still unclear if and how much money Grand Forks would receive.

Grand Forks City Councilman Kurt Kruen says the time frame is going to get shorter to prepare these projects. So we want to get ahead of the curve as much as possible, have some engineering work done. We have our priority list, and we will have some of them ready for bid.

The city council will discuss the priority of the projects at their meeting tomorrow.
