North Dakota Traffic Fatalities Surpass 2011 Total

The number of traffic fatalities on North Dakota roads has eclipsed last year's total with more than a month still to go in the year.

FARGO — The number of traffic fatalities on North Dakota roads has eclipsed last year's total with more than a month still to go in the year.

KFGO radio reports that 150 people have died on roads in the state this year, after four fatalities over the Thanksgiving holiday period. The 150 deaths is two more than the total for all of 2011.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Iverson says more than half of the fatalities this year have been alcohol-related.
