Belford Leaving Commission But Far From Finished

A longtime lake region public servant is leaving after nearly four decades serving Devils Lake and Ramsey County. County Commissioner Joe Belford may no longer be an elected official, but he says he's still hard at work fighting for residents of the Lake Region.

A longtime lake region public servant is leaving after nearly four decades serving Devils Lake and Ramsey County. County Commissioner Joe Belford may no longer be an elected official, but he says he's still hard at work fighting for residents of the Lake Region.

Colleagues say Joe Belford's legacy is his work dealing with flooding on Devils Lake. Belford says his work is far from over. Belford is still part of the Red River Basin Commission. He helped found the group with representatives from North Dakota, Minnesota and Manitoba that works on water issues facing the region. Adam Ladwig has more.
