Governor Jack Dalrymple and North Dakota's top water experts were flooded with questions today about rising waters on Devils Lake.
They say 2012 was a banner year for taking water off the lake but the forecast for 2013 isn't nearly as optimistic. The two Devils Lake outlets accounted for just under a foot of this year's three foot drop, even with both outlets being shut down at different times this year for repairs. Governor Dalrymple says he'll keep the pumps running as much as possible until the lake reaches 1450, which might take a couple of years.
