Senator John Hoeven has met with Air Force brass to make the case for Grand Forks Air Force Base to be the site for a new tanker.

Hoeven makes his push as the Air Force is about to narrow its list of bases eligible to serve as the permanent sites for the new KC-26A aerial refueling tanker. It's expected that three bases, one Guard affiliated, one training and one active duty, will be selected by next spring. Finalists for the tanker missions will be released next Wednesday.
