Our weather may be cold and blustery but those who brave it can still enjoy some great winter recreation opportunities.

Sullys Hill National Game Preserve near Devils Lake is offering plenty of reasons to venture outdoors. The park is open every day during the winter and the cold weather offers a better chance for visitors to see the park's famed wildlife. The buffalo are usually close by year round but the winter months are the best time to see the Sullys Hill elk herd. Visitors can access the auto tour route and hiking trails every day during the winter. Sullys Hill staff are helping draw out the wildlife by setting up feeding stations near roads.

Sullys Hill suffered a significant drop-off in visitors the last couple years because of road construction but all roads to the refuge are repaired now and they're hoping to bring visitors back to the park.
