UPDATE: Two Dead After Head-On Collision South of Grand Forks

Two men died late this afternoon in a head-on collision just south of Grand Forks.

It happened on Highway 81, just four miles south of town, around 4 o'clock. An 86-year-old Buxton man was driving a 2002 Saturn northbound on the highway at the same time a 78-year-old Northwood man was driving his 2002 Chrysler southbound. Police say the cars collided head-on as they were negotiating a curve in the roadway. The Buxton man was pronounced at the scene. The Northwood man was brought to Altru by ambulance and died there as a result of his injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues its investigation.
