Each holiday season Americans buy more than 30 million real trees and more than 13 million artificial ones. It's a decision many people make each year, so why would someone pick one over the other?

People we spoke with today had several different reasons for picking a certain type of tree, whether it be because of convenience or the smell of a real tree in their home. Those who pick artificial trees say it's cleaner, easy to pack away and although they generally cost more than real trees they last for years. Nursery owners around town say they are seeing more people coming in to buy Fresh Fir and Pine trees because of tradition, the smell and look of a real tree. No matter which type you pick, there are pros and cons either way.
