Lake Region officials are hopeful that after two decades there won't be any more flood damaged roads to repair in the Lake Region. Highways in the area have been raised and re-raised but those efforts are finally starting to wind down.

Construction has been so common in the area that for the past two years there's been a public information coordinator whose sole job was to inform the public about road conditions. But that position will be gone at the end of the year. The road work is nearly completed but there is still some paving left to do on highways 20 and 57 next spring. It should be completed in about a month and a half.
