Conrad Delivers Farewell Speech

After 26 years of service, Senator Kent Conrad is retiring. Conrad delivered his farewell speech on the Senate floor today.

After 26 years of service, Senator Kent Conrad is retiring.

Conrad delivered his farewell speech on the Senate floor today. He was elected in 1986 in what he calls 'the biggest political upset in the history of the state'. Today he reflected on his time in office, one that allowed him to live his lifelong passion. As for his future, Conrad said he hasn't yet decided what he will do. The 64-year-old says he's "weary of politics" and eager for a little freedom.
