MN Teachers Say Math Testing Too Hard

Minnesota teachers and school officials are saying the state standardized math test administered at the end of Junior year is too hard for students to pass. Last year East Grand Forks senior high school only passed 31-percent of its standardized math test takers.
If students don't pass the test the first time, they have two other opportunities to do so. But not passing the test doesn't hinder on graduation. Two years ago, Senior High adopted a new curriculum to better suit all students. Staff says they're expecting significant gains this time around. Even students who have already passed the test say it's extremely wordy and hard to understand.
