Counterfeit Bill Spent at Devils Lake Theater
Devils Lake police uncovered a counterfeit 50 dollar bill that was spent over the weekend.
The bill was used at the Lake Three Theater and deposited at a bank where tellers notified police. Counterfeit bills aren't very common in the Lake Region. Police say only three or four are discovered each year, but it's still something authorities take very seriously. Police say it's hard to determine where a single counterfeit bill comes from unless more similar bills are discovered in the area.
