New Minnewaukan School Opens Doors to Students Thursday

Students in Minnewaukan went to class in a brand new school today after nearly 20 years of warding off rising waters.

Students in Minnewaukan went to class in a brand new school today after nearly 20 years of warding off rising waters.

Devils Lake water creeped closer to the old Minnewaukan school year after year until the city was forced to build a dyke to protect it. Now all of those worries can be put to rest. The new school opened across the highway today in the new town site and students and teachers couldn't be more excited. Adam Ladwig has more.
