A new list of people banned from buying alcohol in Devils Lake is brewing up controversy. Some are saying the new ordinance is racially motivated because Native Americans make up the majority of the list.

The Devils Lake Police Chief says the no-sell list was created only by crunching numbers, and that there was no prejudice involved. The list of seven names was originally 21, but police removed names of people who have been brought into the detox facility from other law enforcement agencies, mainly the Fort Totten police. Adam Ladwig reports.
