An early morning accident in Grand Forks sends one to the hospital and leaves a car in flames.
The crash happened at 7:40 this morning at the intersection of University Avenue and north 42nd street. 19-year-old Amber Gutting of Grand Forks lost control of her 2002 Volkswagen Passat. She slid into the path of 26-year-old Joseph Hart of East Grand Forks, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Stratus. The two cars hit head-on, and the Stratus caught on fire.
Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles. Gutting was transported to the Altru emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries.
