The Dak-Minn blood bank has a brand new building, and now they have a new need for a rare type of blood.
The blood bank's supply of type O-negative blood is critically low. People with type O-negative blood are known as universal donors because their blood can be transferred to people with any other blood type. But the blood type is rare, only eight percent of caucasians have the blood type and that number is lower for different ethnic groups. The blood bank is asking anyone with type O-negative blood to call the bank and schedule an appointment to donate.
