Voters in Devils Lake have narrowly approved an addition to Sweetwater Elementary school.
1,153 people voted in favor of a tax increase to fund the project. 734 voted "no." That's a 61 percent "yes" vote, just over the 60 percent threshold for passage.
The addition will replace a 35-year-old portable classroom at the school.
It includes a new media center, gymnasium and classrooms.
The issue failed during a vote in March, but this time voters knew that one-and-a-half million of the 4-million dollar cost will be covered with federal stimulus dollars.
