Lake Region State College is making it easier for baby boomers to begin a new career.

The college joined the "plus 50 Encore Completion Program" aimed at training people older than 50 for new careers. Lake Region will specifically help train older students for careers in health care. The college will receive money to help fund training programs as well as access to educational tool kits to help students before and after they start classes.

Currently, Lake Region only has seven students older than 50 in the medical program. The college hopes to double that number under the new program.
