North Dakota farmers have set new production records. Sunflower acreage and yields took a huge jump in North Dakota.
Oil yields averaged 1,750 pounds per acre, a 140 pound increase from the previous record set in 2005. Meanwhile the sunflower seeds you eat from the shell averaged a record 1,580 pounds per acre.
