Tonight the Grand Forks council discussed ways to attack the local housing crunch in time for this year's building season.

Tonight the Grand Forks council discussed ways to attack the local housing crunch in time for this year's building season.

The city wants to have a plan in place by April 1st, meaning the clock is ticking but leaders don't believe it's at the point where the government needs to intervene. Commission co-chair and councilman Dana Sande put the city's housing crunch into perspective. He says as of today just 39 homes are for sale in Grand Forks/East Grand Forks, which is way less than what's needed. Melanie Orlins has more.
