More than 50 senior citizens across the Lake Region took today to brush up on resources available to help seniors live independent lives.
Local seniors say many of their peers don't know about programs available to them. They shared information on topics like home visits by caregivers and home safety programs. They also focused on keeping senior centers open, many of which are facing a financial crunch. Their goal is to help seniors live their own lives as long as they can. Seniors say they're also paying close attention to the current legislative session where at least 21 bills affecting senior citizen programs in North Dakota are in the works.
