With wind chills reaching 30, 40 and even 50 below there are several things to remember when venturing out into the great outdoors. These wind chills are expected to last throughout the night and it's important to be prepared when going outside.

Meteorologists say there was a half mile visibility or less at times throughout the day with colder temperatures moving in tonight into the early Friday morning. They say it's important to stay safe and if you are traveling, make sure to have a winter survival kit, a good battery in your vehicle and extra warm clothing in the car. People in the area were feeling the effects with construction workers doing what they could to stay warm and students rushing to class. There is a wind chill advisory in effect until noon Friday reaching between 25 and 40 below.
