This week's plunging temperatures have meant rising revenue for full service gas stations in Devils Lake.
Gas station owners say once the thermometer dips below zero, drivers start opting for the convenience of filling up without getting out of their car.
Devils Lake drivers say it's simply more convenient to make someone else brave sub-zero weather filling up their tanks. The gains are significant at Bert's Deep Rock service station, as much as 15 to 20 percent. But business also goes through the roof at Schwan oil, to the tune of triple their normal traffic.
