FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota National Guard says a
soldier serving in Kosovo has died of apparent natural causes.
Thirty-eight-year-old Sgt. Terry Rishling, of Fargo, died about
6 p.m. Wednesday. Guard spokesman Rick Smith says Rishling had not
been feeling well and had gone to a hospital at Camp Bondsteel,
where he died. An autopsy will be done.
About 650 North Dakotans are part of a peacekeeping force in
Kosovo. Rishling was a part of Valley City-based Alpha Company,
231st Maneuver Task Force.
A ceremony was being held Friday in Pristina, Kosovo, for fellow
soldiers to honor Rishling as his body was put on a plane to be
flown back to the U.S. A memorial ceremony was scheduled Monday at
Camp Bondsteel.
