GF Man Stabbed by Masked Man

A Grand Forks man answers the door this morning...talks with a man at the door and ends up being stabbed.

Grand Forks Police were called to 1302 6th avenue north around 9:20 this morning for a stabbing that had just happened. Police say someone knocked on 39 year old Johnny Lazar's door wearing a black ski mask and a hoodie. They say he said something to Lazar before stabbing him in the stomach.

Lt. Grant Schiller: "What had occurred is that an individual approached the door, the two engaged in some dialogue and the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim one time to the abdomen and then left the area."

Police say they have not found the man yet, but that they are following up on some leads. They say they don't think there is a threat to the public.

Lt. Grant Schiller: "at this point in our investigation all indications are indicate this was a targeted event and there's no cause for the general public to be concerned or alarmed... That this was targeted at this individual specifically."

Police say the man was about 6'1" with a dark complexion, wearing a dark hoodie, a ski mask and black boots.
